Uma Ramanathan

Data analyst becoming a product manager. I spend my time in the space between data and decisions.

about

I started as a data analyst — SQL, Python, statistics, dashboards people actually use. Now I'm moving toward product management: taking the same evidence-first habits and pointing them at what to build, not just what happened.

what I do

Most days move between three modes: pulling apart a dataset to find what's actually true, turning findings into a dashboard or story a stakeholder can act on, and sketching product specs for AI-driven features — architecture, guardrails, what success looks like — even before there's an engineering team to hand them to. Right now, most of that energy is going into becoming a PM for real: interview prep, PRDs, and a personal toolkit of AI-assisted PM skills (see product-polymath below).

ideas I haven't shipped yet

locked for now

This section is intentionally empty. Half-formed product ideas and thoughts I wouldn't dare share yet will go here once they're ready for daylight — not before.
